Carolyn decided during her medical degree that she would like to pursue a career in General Practice; liking the idea of variety in patients and problems encountered. She was delighted to be accepted by PANCH (Preston and Northcote Community Hospital, which is now no longer) for her intern year. PANCH provided an extensive range of positions which were ideal training for General Practice.
Carolyn remained at PANCH for her second year post graduation, and then had a year at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Her next year was 6 months’ general practice in Deer Park and 6 months in community psychiatry.
After a wonderful 9 months of travel overseas (Europe), Carolyn returned to Melbourne. Her very first job application in October 1983 was for a position at Eastbound Clinic. Carolyn was successful in this application and commenced at Eastbound in February 1984.
Carolyn still very much enjoys the variety of general practice; patients of all ages and an abundance of variety of presenting problems.
Dr Carolyn Brown has many years of experience as a medical practitioner and her contribution to the medical care of the patients at Eastbound Clinic is highly valued.
Carolyn is married to Don and has a son, David.
