Tony Zeeher grew up in Omeo where his father was the only doctor for 120 km. 
In the 1950’s they moved to East Bentleigh where Dr Zeeher Snr ran a successful clinic from the family home in Tucker Road.  His father’s passion for medicine was infectious; he retired from medical practice at eighty years of age.

After graduating from Medicine at Monash University as Dux of his class, Tony spent five years in hospital training, initially intending to be a Psychiatrist, however he found he missed clinical medicine and commenced training to be a physician.

In 1972 he entered General Practice at the Centre Road Medical Clinic in East Bentleigh for six months while waiting to go to the USA to continue his studies in the relationship between psychological factors and illness. 

In family medicine he found his home in a setting that treated people in a holistic way.

Tony remained in the same practice for thirty five years becoming a part of the community of East Bentleigh until this practice merged with Eastbound Clinic in
May 2006.

During this time he continued to train and teach in psychological medicine, rearing five children (and now six grandchildren) with his wife Zoi .  They both enjoy skiing, and have traveled extensively.  Tony plays tennis badly and reads veraciously!
