Eastbound Clinic is a service entity to support Independent Doctors, owned and operated by two GPs who also consult at Eastbound Clinic: Dr Justine Birchall and Dr Owen Latimer. We recruit and employ high-quality nursing and administration staff and maintain our modern premises to help each doctor provide quality care to their patients.

Our vision is to shape the future of General Practice by blending the best aspects of traditional General Practice with a modern, innovative and knowledge-empowered environment. We work with independent medical practitioners who share this vision. All doctors working at Eastbound Clinic are fellows of the RACGP (Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners) and are Specialist Family Physicians. They maintain their registration by participating in regular education and professional development activities.

Independent Practitioners at Eastbound range in age from their 20s to their 60s. They have a broad range of interests including Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Mental Health, Chronic Conditions such as Diabetes, Skin Cancer and Skin Health, Men’s Health, Geriatric Medicine, and Sports Medicine.

Eastbound Clinic employs and trains high-quality nursing and administration staff to support the work of each GP. We provide generous staffing levels to ensure GPs are well supported.

Our purpose-built, modern, and spacious premises have on-site car parking, disabled access, an internal lift, light and airy consulting rooms, well-equipped treatment areas for our nursing staff and comfortable facilities for all.

We assist the General Practitioners who work at Eastbound Clinic to enrol their patients into recall programs to provide preventative checks, screening tests and other health promotion activities. Your doctor can arrange this for you with your consent.

Our owner GPs, led by Dr Owen Latimer as the principal supervisor, provide training and supervision for GP Registrars at Eastbound Clinic who are employed by Eastbound Clinic while working in their temporary training roles. Some of the independent GPs working at Eastbound Clinic also enjoy teaching medical students. You may encounter these students when you attend the clinic.

Eastbound Clinic is an AGPAL Accredited Practice. This rigorous program ensures that the clinic meets or exceeds all standards set by the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners. Accreditation is completed by the 3 owner GPs of Eastbound Clinic, led by Dr Justine Birchall, our Practice Manager and our support team of administration staff.

Eastbound Clinic participates in research activities with our local Primary Health Network SEMPHN (South East Melbourne Primary Health Network) and has also provided unique services for the independent GPs at Eastbound to deliver better care for their patients with the support of grants tendered for and won in grant applications, led by Dr Justine Birchall.
